The world of 'Klangtas' is an imaginary sound world that exists in a small part of our brains. The inhabitants of 'Klangtas' are made from a multitude of sonic organisms that float around in our minds. The sound recording (see below) documents a recent visit to 'Klangtas' and introduces four of its inhabitants: Brickman, Dornot, Argo and Kido. In order find out what lifes like in 'Klangtas' an AI robotic probe was sent through a portal to gather information. In order to decode the recorded message, you must apply a face manipulation technique called 'Gujing' (gu:(j)/ing). The thumbnail pictures (see below) are members of the public performing the act of 'gujing' whilst listening to the recording. The technique, of squeezing your thumb and forefinger onto the sides of your cheeks, enables you to hear the world of 'Klangtas'. So, whilst listening to the sound recording, don't forget to 'GUJ!'.
Thanks to all the participants who took part in this project. Except for one person (who shall remain nameless) who just thought I was crazy - Haha!
The sound recording was published on a limited edition CD 'Sound Report 2' by the Soundnetwork.
